Lean design and legal compliance

Bringing in Lean experts at the design stage can help with cost avoidance and unnecessary expenditure. A good example of this is a project that our sister company, Haden Freeman, undertook for an oil company in Aberdeen, Scotland. The initial design proposed using five storage tanks. However, our lean experts analysed the situation and reached the conclusion that a single large tank could do the job far more efficiently and give improved throughput. This saved the company thousands in terms of construction costs and consequently resulted in accelerated timescales.
